Sometimes we get to a point in life where we have some unfortunate health issues. They can be due to accidents, they may be caused by genetics, our environment, and if we are being honest sometimes it is because we do not take care of ourselves. So many times these things happen when other bad things are occurring. Maybe there is no job, maybe no benefits, or maybe both. These days that is no reason to worry though. It is now possible to purchase guaranteed health insurance. No matter the medical condition you can now have some coverage to take care of your medical needs without having to pay everything out of pocket. We will talk about what this kind of policy will do for you below.
One of the first things you can choose to add to your guaranteed health insurance is accident and critical illness. This important coverage will pay you a flat dollar amount to help with medical bills and lost wages due to an accident like falling down the stairs or an illness like cancer or a heart attack. Make sure you talk with your broker to review the list of what is covered by these types of coverage. Some policies will include a small amount of life insurance but usually not enough to take care of your total life insurance needs. Next you have lots of options to choose from. Hospital indemnity coverage starts at $300 per day in coverage and can go all the way up to $2,000 per day depending on how much you would like to spend on your monthly premiums. You can also receive an ICU benefit which is usually a little higher than the hospital benefit due to the increased costs associate with being in intensive care. Inpatient and outpatient coverage will also be available. On some of the better plans your policy will pick up 100% of the surgery based on a surgery schedule provided by the company you choose. These are often based on what medicare pays for a specific surgery. Again, make sure to talk with your broker about this. There will likely be some anesthesia coverage as well. It is normally a percentage (i.e. 25%) of what anesthesia normally costs. there may also be an outpatient's doctor visits benefit. This is normally a flat dollar figure that can be paid to a doctor's office for you to have a visit and with a guaranteed health insurance policy you will likely be limited in the amount of times that benefit will pay out. Finally, some of the best policies will offer a prescription benefit. It may be a discount card or a copay option. Be sure to discuss that with your broker also.
